World Workplace 2022

Wednesday, November 2nd, 2022

If you’ve never been to IFMA’s World Workplace, you should really consider doing so.  The experience is well worth the expense and I cannot explain how nice it is to be in a facility where everyone understands what you do every day.  AND they’re enthusiastic about it!  Nashville did not disappoint either.  Music City Center is well named as there was excellent access to hotels, food, nightlife, and culture.  That said, it was difficult to break away from everything going on inside Music City Center.

The exhibition floor was full of vendors offering solutions to the latest problems facing facility manager today.  Indoor Air Quality, furniture removal and replacement to help deal with overhead and the hybrid work environment, inventory management, and staffing solutions to help find talent in the current market.  Similarly, the education sessions were offering bleeding edge topics to help today’s FMs stay on top of industry trends and offer insights none of us would see on an individual basis.  Truly, we all benefit with the shared knowledge IFMA facilitates.

Presentations included budget projection, leadership development, and offerings of a deeper understanding of how the coming generations perceive and use technology and what that may mean for our facilities.  There was so much to learn and take in, that it is impossible to explain it all in a simple blog post.  Next year’s World Workplace is set to be in Denver, Colorado and you should start planning your trip now!
